Around 10h30 this morning (Friday, 09Feb) , a brown Ford Ranger was stolen in the suburb of Lynwood in Pretoria. With information of its movement from Tracker SA, the EMPD Equestrian Unit members were able to trace it to Benoni where it was found abandoned.

The stolen Ford Ranger was recovered around 12h10 in Cloverdene, Benoni. The dashboard was found badly stripped and the ignition damaged. Apparently, the thieves grew cold feet when realizing they could not locate the tracker unit and decided to abandon the vehicle.

The recovered Ford Ranger was towed to SAPS Van Ryn pound in Benoni for further investigations and safe-keeping.
