400M long stolen cable recovered in Villa Lisa, Boksburg

A woman was arrested at Villa Lisa Sports ground on Saturday, 10 February following a tip off by the members of Villa Lisa community. She was found in possession of an electrical cable over four-hundred (400m) meters in length. According to the Ekurhuleni Anti-Cable Theft Unit the cable is worth approximately R20, 000.

The police acted swiftly after receiving the information with the resultant arrest of a 40yr old woman found in possession of the suspected stolen property. The preliminary investigations pointed to the cable being Telkom property that went missing recently in the area.

The suspect was locked up at Dawn Park police station on charges of possession of suspected stolen property. The seized cable was booked in at the same police station. She was expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
