On the 27th of October (Friday) 2017 to the 29th of October (Sunday) 2017, Ext 28 phase 1 in Vosloorus celebrated by doing a giving back camp named Camp4Change.The camp happens annually and it concentrates on children that come from unprivileged backgrounds both primary and secondary. “The purpose is to bring change to the community, in terms of emphasizing the term Ubuntu; as black people from the township face challenges and we just want to empower one another where we can”. Said a young lady by the name of Nomsa.

The camp is about donating toys, school uniform, clothes and school shoes. People from the working class and respected women from the community come to support and watch our performances done by creative people around Vosloorus” said Sive Moloi. The campaign Camp4Change, was not all about the change but also development in ward 46. The games that were played included Table Soccer, Pool and indigenous games.” I never thought this camp will bring so much energy, joy and excitement to the community” said Benetti the founder of the campaign.

He added by saying “Though the weather wasn’t so good, we managed to keep people warm by letting them inside the tents we had and everything was a great success”. The community contributed with everything that was able to help and helping hands were appreciated. Lebohang (community member) said “It means a lot to see the youth taking part, it is a blessing in disguise and it is a great start, they should keep up the good work”.
