On the 15th November 2017 Buhle Park Primary School held a foundation phase induction in which the main purpose was for the children to familiarise themselves with the Grade one (1) systems since there are currently still grade R pupils says the HOD Audrey Ndlovu, who further outlined the importance of this saying that grade R methods of learning is mainly children learning through playing but these induction somehow gives the pupils a wakeup call because it entails a more formal set up.

Ndlovu continued to say this induction system started up in 2014 and has continued each year till now, she also said that this induction helps the teachers to know what sort of pupils they have to prepare themselves for in the following year, however the program they have in line is one that enables teachers to foresee pupils that will need extra attention and also helps the teacher and parent relationship to be able to work together and making sure that they do the best for the pupils at hand. She further mentioned that the pupils present for induction are both existing grade R within the school and those that are joining from other Day cares, and also mentioned that the challenges they face as a school are parents attending inductions with children that are not registered yet while registration dates have passed.

However parents were also invited and involved in this induction saying this is important for their children and also helps with the child, teacher and parent relationship. Kelebogile Mogane(25) a parent herself said that in as much as other schools do not have this program she values the importance of it because it helps prepare the children and that should your child be one of those that impose lack of understanding within this program you are then made aware of it and can start working on it before school commences the following year. One of the other parents present was Ouma Monbane (48) who thanked the teacher for coming up with this program saying that she has seen the benefit of this program and that it makes things easier on the child when all sides are involved in making sure that their school work is up to standards.
