Forgy Mokalapa the founder of #Buildawoman movement hosted the 4th Annual Women Empowerment Event under the #Buildawoman at The Balcony Restuarant and Pub, in Motloung Section, Katlehong on Saturday, the 22nd of May.
#Buildawoman is a women empowerment movement that has been taking place since 2016 with the main purpose of empowering women through real-life stories; it inspires them to be the best versions of themselves and to tap into their power by fulfilling their purpose.
The recurring events have been taking place in eMbalenhle( Mpumalanga) which is where Ms. Mokalapa grew up and this was the first time it took place in the East rand. The event was attended by 60 women and men between the ages of 18 and 50 who are residing in Katlehong, Dawn Park, Buhle Park, Thokoza, Vosloorus and some came from farfetched areas like Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Joburg and EMbalenhle. It was a fruitful event which left most women feeling like they can be anything and everything they set their minds to.
Speakers of the day were Ms. Nomcebo Msane who is a training facilitator, a writer and motivational speaker, Ntokozo Mwelase who is the founder of The Future Shapers organization, life coach, founder of Ekurhuleni Annual Aerobics Festival and owner of Fitness Drip as well as Mokhele Machengoane who is the head of an Engineering Division in the Housing Development Agency based in Free State. Ms. Rorisang Tshwane was the MC of the day.
The event also turned into a platform for the attendees to share what they have learned from the speakers who spoke. The message that stood out on the day was the power of asking yourself what you want as a person, going back to basics and the importance of affirmations. What was even more special on the day is that it was Ms. Mokalapa’s 25th birthday. Attendees got to be in the formal event and later celebrated with the founder. The next event will take place in August and those who would like to be part of it can follow Forgy Mokalapa on Instagram, @forgy_mokalapa on twitter and on Facebook: Forgy Mokalapa, to get more details.
