The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, apprehended a 39-year-old male suspect, for assault and domestic violence, in the Daveyton area.
A 23-year-old female victim alleges that on Thursday in the early hours, she was walking along with her boyfriend (the suspect) and her friend, coming back from a nearby tavern. The couple escorted the friend to her place and as they were walking, the victim asked the suspect if they could go home as it was late. The suspect became mute. She could sense that; the suspect was somehow angry. When they arrived at the friend’s place, the victim decided to run away and the suspect chased after her, caught up with her and started the gruesome assault, while she was helplessly lying on the ground. Somehow, the victim managed to run into the suspect’s home and hid behind a tree and after a while, she came out and went straight, to the police station, to report the matter.
The suspect was located at his place of residence by the EMPD Officers. He was cornered and immediately arrested. The detained lawbreaker, who is in custody at the Daveyton police station, is expected to appear, at the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.
