A RIDER CAUGHT DOING 226KM/H

On August 10, 2020 between 10:00 and 21h00 in Germiston and around the Kempton Park area, the EMPD Speed Unit and the North Task Team Members, promptly nailed two unlawful activities which took place during the course of that day.The EMPD speed unit arrested a speedster while the EMPD North Task team members uncovered narcotics worth almost R3M, which they confiscated.

The law enforcement acts by EMPD officers happened as follows: at 10:00 on the N3 freeway in a direction south by Rand Airport off ramp, the 30-year old male riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle, who claimed that he was test driving the machine, was handcuffed by speed enforcing Officers monitoring the throughway, for clocking 226km/h on a 120 zone. The suspect was charged with reckless and negligent driving, and was escorted to Germiston police station.On the other hand, during a crime prevention operation at 20h50 in Kempton Park area, the EMPD North Task Team patrolling West Street, drove into a suspicious idling silver VW Polo sedan, with a male driver behind the steering wheel. On approach, the driver left the sedan and disappeared through thin air.

On closer inspection to the VW Polo, Officers uncovered 10x packets containing mandrax tablets, 07x packs of crystal meth, 04x full moon rocks and a portable digital scale valued at R2,5 million, stashed on panel doors and in the boot compartment. The VW Polo was impounded to the nearest police station, so that SAPS Members could investigate further.The detained suspect who was speeding with a motorbike is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court/s soon.
