ActionSA held an electioneering campaign on the 27th of August wherein it introduced its Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate, Letlhogonolo Moseki, to the residents of Katlehong.
During the course of the drive the tender aged party that will be celebrating its one year anniversary on the 29th of August, advanced its mandatory agenda of recruiting voters prior to the local government elections. The president of ActionSA (Herman Mashaba) who is also a mayoral candidate in the City of Johannesburg hand delivered the party’s pamphlets to some houses that are based in Katlehong(Hlahatsi section).
As the president of ActionSA was issuing out the pamphlets, a woman (Thabile Dube) who visited her friend in Hlahatsi section, Malefo Mokoena (62), seized the opportunity to express herself to the president of the party, saying, “The governing party (ANC) has not fulfilled its promises to us as the citizens of the country. It promised to create jobs but our husbands and children are not working. We want to vote out the ruling party and give another party a chance.When the mayoral candidates of Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni were interviewed at their last canvassing spot in Mngadi section they both shared their primary purpose of initiating the campaign in Ekurhuleni.
The Johannesburg mayoral candidate Harman Mashaba said, “Well, we are here in Ekurhuleni as part of the build up to our one year anniversary, as you are aware that ActionSA was launched last year on the 29th of August, so we felt it’s important to build up towards the main event which will be hosted on Sunday, yesterday we were in Johannesburg, today we are here Ekurhuleni, we want the people of Ekurhuleni to be aware that ActionSA will be contesting this upcoming local government elections, we are also introducing our mayoral candidate and ward councilors. We are here to show the people of Ekurhuleni that indeed we want to win this metro through our mayoral candidate Letlhogonolo Moseki.”
On the hand, the mayoral candidate of Ekurhuleni Letlhogonolo Moseki said, “We are here to engage with our people so we can understand their issues, however we are more careful in making promises to our people, but we are advocating for change as a party, this drive is part of the birthday celebration of ActionSA , remember the party was started last year in August whereby 2.4 million South Africans mandated Harman Mashaba to start a political party, “ Moseki divulged.
