Earlier this month, ActionSA submitted a motion against Mayor Ngodwana in Ekurhuleni to help prevent the City from going broke and to improve services, which are now at an all-time low.
After the meeting on Friday, we’re a step closer to changing the leadership in Ekurhuleni, as our motion has been successful.
So, Mayor Ngodwana will face a vote of no confidence on Thursday, 29 February.
Under Ngodwana’s leadership, we’ve seen:
- The city’s money getting low.
- Services stopping because providers aren’t getting paid.
- A big problem with rubbish in communities.
- The mayor not listening to a decision by the council to give jobs to city workers and not doing checks on people’s spending.
- Not doing what the council said about buildings that are taken over illegally, which is risky for people who live there.
Mayor Ngodwana will always be remembered in Ekurhuleni as the “puppet mayor” who let the EFF mess up the city’s money and how it’s run. Protecting Cllr. Dunga, the EFF person in charge of money, who’s been in trouble a lot this past year, was really bad.
ActionSA wants political parties to work together and support this motion to help our city.
So, ActionSA is talking to all political parties who want to make things better in the Metro, finish checking how things are done, make sure the city has enough money, and start giving services to our communities.
