Alina Kwacha, a Grade 10 student at Mkhabela High School, is making waves in the music industry with her soulful voice and captivating performances. At just 16 years old, this rising RNB/Afro Soul artist is already building a name for herself in South Africa’s vibrant music scene.
Her journey began in the most unexpected way. Alina was discovered by Busisiwe Lephoto while singing at home during a cleaning session. Lephoto, who is in a relationship with South African musician Smezi, instantly recognized Alina’s raw talent and introduced her to Stebie Records.
Under the Stebie Records label, Alina began collaborating with producers King Gabhadiya and Deepza, and worked closely with Smezi on songwriting. Her early work has already borne fruit, she has released two singles, “Bano Mona” and “Ngizolinda,” both featuring Smezi. The tracks highlight her unique vocal style and emotional depth, quickly gaining her a growing fanbase.
Alina is full of gratitude for the support she’s received so far. She thanks Mam Stebie for believing in her, Smezi for his mentorship in songwriting, and her teachers and classmates at Mkhabela High School for their constant encouragement.
Born in Vrede, North West, and now based in Thembisa, Alina is taking her first steps into the industry with a grounded approach. She’s focused on learning, growing her craft, and balancing school with her music career. While there’s still a long road ahead, Alina Kwacha’s passion and dedication show she’s ready to take on the challenge, one performance at a time.
