Our adopted school, Charlotte Maxeke Secondary School, was visited yesterday by Bitek Industries Management from Ward 12, where ANC Ward Councillor Gloria Ndinisa continues to serve well in terms of Service Delivery. This resulted in the company offering to give back to the community through Community Social Responsibility (CSR).
Councillor Ndinisa met with the company’s management on February 9, 2024, at their business, and proposed an intervention for the school, which is in urgent need of assistance, hence the visit today.
Representatives from the Management Committee (Manco), School Governing Body (SGB), School Principal, and Senior Management Team (SMT) were present. The purpose of the visit was outlined, and the offer was presented.
During the school holidays next month, the following will be done:
- All toilets will be fixed.
- Benches for learners to sit on during breaks, instead of sitting on the ground, will be bought.
- All broken windows will be fixed.
- School chairs will be bought.
The donation is ongoing, with all school needs noted. Every year, something will be done, including:
- Revamping precast rooms to be used as a staff room and sick room.
- Painting and covering roof leaks.
- Installing shades at the assembly area.
- Paving outside classrooms.
- Creating teachers’ car parking.
- Reworking the school grounds for sports activities.
