The Siyaqhuba campaign is part of the desire of ensuring service delivery issues all around the City. The campaign has vowed to put full commitment in supporting different communities in delivering good service. On the 19 January 2018 the Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina together with the city’s officials, visited two schools in the east region of Gauteng .The first school that was visited was East Rand Academy of Excellence in Germiston, the team handed over 150 chairs, stationary ,blankets, white boards, food packs and pencil cases . The children were delighted to receive these items. “It’s like the biggest thing that has ever happened in our school, I am humbled and may you do this to others as well “.said Agath Kloppers the school principal. She didn't only express her gratitude but gave the mayor a bible as a form of thanksgiving. The campaign moved to the next school Mogobeng Primary School in Nhlapo,Katlehong.

The Siyaqhuba team handed over chairs, cleaning materials, stationary, food packs and school shoes. The service delivery issued in both schools also included grass cutting ,removal of rubble, cleaning of the school environment and fixing of leaking water pipes . “We are having this wonderful program for back to school, we believe that education is a source that can break the cycle of poverty. If there's anything that the school might need such as extra classes , more stationary or anything else, the school should feel free to contact us “said Mzwandile Masina. The teachers and pupils practically expressed their enthusiastic gratitude for the gifts and for the visit. The Siyaqhuba campaign continues to land a helping hand. .

Education should be seen as a stepping stone to sharpen minds and build a brighter tomorrow for all those who seize it with both hands. The Siyaqhuba campaign not only guarantees that, however it gives learners and teachers the support that they desire. Initiatives such as these, spread hope to young minds, a hope that continuously serves as a reminder that somewhere out there Ekurhuleni cares enough to ensure that they have the resources they need in order to improve their learning environment. The joy on the children and Educator's faces was nothing short of gratitude and a zeal to continue in doing their best at all times.
