DH Williams Hall in Katlehong, on 11 October 2025, saw the convergence of social clubs, burial scheme groups and stokvels for the Asikhulumi Siyenza Imbizo, where Scarlet Capital an insurance broker offering tailor made insurance solutions for individuals and groups unpacked several of its services. The event was hosted in unison with the company’s underwriter, and financial services provider Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA).
As a proudly black excellence company which has been operational since 2017, with its main branch in Daveyton, stretched its wings to its growing client base in Ekurhuleni, particularly the Kathorus region where both trust and support for its policies has grown. The Asikhulumi Siyenza Imbizo shed light on Scarlet Capital’s hands-on personalised approach to funeral solutions for social clubs, societies, stokvels, co-operatives, churches and stokvels. Stokvels in South Africa’s township economy remain popular and trusted for pooling saved funds and resources from individuals into groups for various purposes from like special events, parties and funerals.
During the Imbizo Scarlet Capital provided insights through testimonials, and answered frequently asked questions, while emphasising the security and value for money that comes with its policies, especially for people with different earning capacity.
“We take pride in value for money policies-our policies are very affordable” said Xolani Buthelezi, Founder, and, Owner of Scarlet Capital. “Never have you heard that we have not paid out to our clients” he added.
“What matters most in our line of business is to pay claims,” he said. “We are happy that also our senior citizens [were present], who are sometimes neglected and feel that they are sometimes vulnerable to fraud, we try to engage with them and listen to them and bring the services ku Bantu.” Adding that cooperatives, churches and more social clubs should consider partnering with their broker.
Lerato Funani, RML Customer Service at RMA emphasised that services provided by Scarlet safeguarded against the risk of individual payment risks. “When you are working with companies such as Scarlet Capital that are supported by RMA you know for sure there is an institution you can hold accountable for payment of claims” she said, asserting that it is important to shift risk from individuals to institutions. “You are guaranteed to have a dignified funeral provided you follow all the processes and you pay your premiums,” she averred.
One of Scarlet Capital’s clients since July 2024, Gloria Mohlabi, from Joyous Burial Society in Katlehong said that the company was recommended to her by a close friend’s husband who has had a policy with the company for more than three years. “Since we’ve been with them everything is going well, they’ve proved they know what they are doing and because of this we trust them”, she said.
“It was good because we got more information and our questions were answered”, Phumzile Hlongwane, a member of Dubai Women’s Stokvel said.
Gugu Ndlozi, Brand and Marketing Specialist of Scarlet Capital commented on the day’s partakings saying she was happy with the turnout of the guests who came to the event.
