Throughout April 19th and 20th, 2024, the Benoni Flying Squad made significant arrests and recoveries in Gauteng. On Friday evening, a 27-year-old suspect was apprehended in Boksburg for business burglary and theft after being caught with stolen vehicle parts.
Early Saturday morning, two suspects were arrested at a diesel depot in Etwatwa West for their involvement in a business robbery in Kempton Park. Two stolen vehicles, a white Toyota Quantum and a white Hyundai H1, were also recovered.
Later that Saturday, two armed suspects were arrested in Brakpan after allegedly robbing a man and leaving a woman with fatal injuries in a hit-and-run scenario. A firearm with its serial number filed off was seized during the arrest.
Additionally, a 37-year-old suspect was apprehended for possession of crystal methamphetamine in Brakpan.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will face various charges in the local Magistrate’s courts, including business breaking, theft, possession of hijacked vehicles, murder, armed robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of drugs.
