The ground at Chris Hani Crossing Mall was on fire on 20 September 2025, as 19 of the finest dance crews in the region battled it out for glory and a share of R30,000. The highly anticipated Final Spring Dance Competition lived up to its hype, described by attendees as a tough, tight, and tremendously successful showcase of raw local talent. From pantsula to amapiano and modern hip-hop, the crews danced their hearts out and competed with immense pride, leaving everything on the floor.
The atmosphere was electric, with the mall’s centre court packed with supporters cheering for their favourite groups. After a series of intense and nail-biting performances, the judges finally reached their verdict.
A massive congratulations to our champions:
* 1st Place: REF Production – Walking away with the grand prize of R15 000.
* 2nd Place: MDM – Putting on a powerful performance to secure second place and won R10 000
* 3rd Place: Sakhile CCG – Rounding out the podium with their impressive cultural routine and scooped R5000.
The leader of the victorious REF Production was overjoyed. He expressed his gratitude to Chris Hani Crossing Mall, stating, “We are so thankful to the mall for thinking of us and for creating a platform where we can showcase our passion. This win means everything to our crew.”
The event was not just about the dancers. A huge shout-out must go to Fastrak for sponsoring the event with top-of-the-range sound that kept the bass thumping, and to SIYAFIED for holding it down on the decks and keeping the energy high all day long.
