Community engagement amid the festive season

On Sunday, 24 November, the Operational Commander of Police in SAPS Katlehong, Lieutenant Colonel Ephraim Shezi accompanied by Sector 1 manager, Sergeant Nkambule, Crime Information Management Analysis Center (CIMAC), representative, Sergeant Chabalala and Community Police Forum(CPF), engaged with the community of sector 1 at Thembalethu Primary School.
The engagement sought to beef up the residents about safety tips during the festive season when anyone could be a victim of crime. During the meeting, there were question and answer sessions that both the Police and communities should work on to improve policing through the office of CPF.
The biggest concerns were noted, such as slow or poor response by Police when a complaint is lodged and serious allegations of crime by some men and women in blue (Police Officials) at druglords. The other biggest concern that Police discourage in any form is Mob justice. The act of the community taking the law into their own hands. The police mentioned that Mob justice is pure criminality and is purely discouraged among communities.
