On the 15th of March 2025, Vosloorus community took on the initiative to install boom gates where they can. It was a unanimous decision – not sponsored, no tender, no councillor involved, but just a community that sat down and foresaw the challenges of its community and came with a constructive solution.
“We’re not saying this will deal away with crime, but at least we can always try to eradicate it.” Mr Nkosinathi Gazide, part of the community, said. He also mentioned how exhausted the community is of house break-ins, stealing of cars and just trending with all bad things as if nothing good can come out of the community.
“Nothing hurts than buying your child a phone today, and tomorrow it is stolen.” The community of ext 28 is doing all the best it can to try and better its community instead of complaining and waiting on the government.
