DLH Empowers Aspiring Learners in Daveyton with Exciting Holiday Programme

The Digital Learning Hub (DLH) in Daveyton is proud to announce its upcoming Holiday Programme, offering a unique learning experience for learners from Daveyton and its surrounds. Located at the Mayfield Square Shopping Centre, the DLH aims to bring access to education into the retail space, making learning more accessible and inclusive for all.

The DLH Holiday Programme is set to kick off from 26 June 2023 to 14 July 2023, running from Mondays to Fridays between 9h00 to 13h00. Each session lasts for 2 hours. This initiative seeks to bridge the educational gap and provide learners with exciting opportunities to explore the world of digital learning.

With a focus on enriching educational experiences, the DLH offers a range of engaging activities during the Holiday Programme:

Scratch Coding Storytelling: Unleash your creativity as you bring stories to life through coding. Learn the fundamentals of Scratch programming and create your own interactive tales that will captivate your imagination.

Micro: bit Code Programme: Dive into the world of programming using Micro:bit, a powerful device that opens up endless possibilities. Discover the magic of coding and witness first-hand how it shapes the technology around us.

Lego Robotics: Experience the thrill of hands-on robotics and engineering with Lego. Build incredible creations, delve into the principles of design and automation, and explore the world of robotics while having an absolute blast!

The DLH, in collaboration with local schools, aims to provide learners with access to both online and offline educational resources. The facility will be staffed by a dedicated team of experienced professionals, along with out-of-school youth known as IT Enablers or ITEs, who are actively engaged in a digital skills program designed and facilitated by Edunova.

Edunova, a Non-Profit Company is the visionary behind the Digital Learning Hub, and has conceptualized and developed this innovative learning space. As the leader of the rollout, Edunova is committed to implementing this high-impact model and has long-term plans to empower the Hub’s ownership and management by young entrepreneurs.

The DLH Holiday Programme presents a unique opportunity for learners to engage in meaningful educational activities while fostering their creativity and technological skills. Participation costs only R20 per session, ensuring affordability and accessibility for all. Please note that kids under the age of 18 will require their parent or guardian’s contact details and consent to participate.
