The Kingsmen duo Katleho “Daniel King” Mokholo and Tshepo “King Stuff” Sithole released a song titled Stress in 2023 which was recorded when they were going through a stressful time trying to navigate their way into the music industry.
The song has gained momentum and the duo is soon to release their music video.
Sithole gave insight into the work behind their impressive sound.
“Mokholo constructed the beat and chorus and was joined by me in the studio to solidify the record.
“The song came about as a result of us being stressed about making it in the music industry.
“There is also a narrative of us always being seen around women and mind you, these are women that we work with,” said Sithole.
He said the narrative quickly translated to us being associated with female presence consistently so people started assuming we are stressed because we are always around female company.
“The song is an ode to our stress and troubles but its vibrant melodies are a reminder that we are genius, artists on the rise, and things will work out eventually,” he added.
He mentioned that they aim to make the song an anthem sung nationally as they believe that it speaks to the hearts of fellow South Africans.
“We plan for the song to also get a remix alongside various big artists to make the impact even bigger but that will happen once we have the adequate budget to do so,” Sithole said.
He also mentioned that the song is available on all digital streaming and purchasing platforms.
“With courtesy of the Distribution company we are signed to(Ingrooves Africa/Virgin Music Group) we also plan to shoot a music video just before the end of September,” he further mentioned.
He further added that the music video is scheduled to be shot by the award-winning filmmaker Ofentse Mwase who has shot for the likes of Rick Ross and Kwesta.
