On the 16th of June 2023, Ekasi Fashion Week hosted a kasi street fashion at Vosloorus Boulevard, to celebrate youth day.
Ekasi Fashion Week is a hub for creative entrepreneurs to thrive in the local economy. It is also a platform for aspiring models to receive the skill of modeling through their training and workshops, and for creative entrepreneurs to express, network, and gain access to the market through various initiatives.
Talking to Mayor Stephen Monoki, the founder of Ekasi Fashion Week, said that for their autumn/winter showcase 2023, hundred models from Ekurhuleni, Soweto, and Pretoria paraded the streets of Vosloorus wearing garments and shoes from Langaville’s Finest, Mswenko footwear, Kamva le Africa, Maggymargs Designs, Classic Madala TEOA, Exclusivity, Fast Fashion (ff) Designs, Mohato Apparel.
In conclusion, Monoki said that people should expect their Spring/ Summer Showcase which will take place in October.
