EMPD EXPANDS CAREER GROWTH AND APPOINTS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT

Kempton Park_ On 2 June 2022, The Municipal Commissioner of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMDP), Chief I.J Mapiyeye illustrated his commitment to mending the disparities within the department.

Commended as Chief of promotion, in his second tenure of office, has appreciated and acknowledged the dedication of all recipients. The trivial ceremony was conducted at the EMPD Head Quarters, in Kempton Park, where ten (10) Inspector ranks of ETD- Practitioners (Education, Training and Development Practitioners) and two (2) Lieutenant Colonels ranks were bestowed.

The following instructors are appointed as Inspectors (KA Mlakeng, AK Mntungwa, M Motaung, MA Lebogo, D Kisten, AC Khan, BH Nkabinde, DI Sewmungal, TH Gwebu, and VP Mkhize) who executed the mammoth task of converting a civilian to a police official in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Training Academy(EMPD-TA) with the greatest competency.

While Lt- Colonel Lebepe and Lt- Colonel Singh are no strangers to operations and specialised services respectively. Being of managerial competency, the duo is welcomed and instructed to lead with passion and dedication as this profession is a calling to most.

The Chief of police reiterated,” there are still a lot of opportunities, and growth within the department and we need to maintain professionalism at all times.
