Following a complaint of land grabbing, members of the #EMPD Land Invasion Unit and the First Response Unit, together with the SAPS, removed 23 illegal structures in Daveyton on Tuesday, 5 August.
The landowner produced documents proving land ownership and requested assistance. The owner had previously requested the land grabbers to vacate the land and remove their structures.
While law enforcers were removing the structures, the land grabbers alleged that an unknown man had sold them pieces of land for R1 500.
Communities are warned not to fall prey to such acts of criminality and are encouraged to report any incidents to SAPS.
