Family Fun Picnic Day for Mother’s Day

By Nobuhle Ngema

Minenhle Ngubeni Sinethemba from Vosloorus, with his photographer, Bahle Moabi, hosted Family Picnic event on the 11th of May 2025, with the aim of bringing family values back to its roots, bringing unity, and psychological reunion.

They are a family-orientated people, with Minenhle being a present father to his kid. They are both passionate about family. For them, family is everything that signifies positivity, hope, love and strength.

Minenhle started this journey with two potential people from his hood. One of them was good with graphics, another with marketing. But they had challenges along the way and decided to go their separate ways.

Bahle said Minehle was inspired by him as a photographer and a radio presenter.

This is Minehle’s third event. The first one was done with Umkhonto WeSizwe on 9 November 2024, second being on the 26 December 2024.  This is the second one he’s worked with Bahle on, who’s not only his photographer, but a mentor and advisor as well.

Activities they had on their disposal was a jumping castle, swimming pool, face-paintings, bungee jumping. And they desire to have more.

Minenhle’s current challenge are funds. He tried sending proposals to investors and for sponsorships, but he needs funding for his events to continue.
“I can’t manoeuvre around some things without funding and resources.” he said.

He extended his heartfelt gratitude to his biggest supporters, Bakhoba, DJ Vava, his team, and his family.

In future, he’s looking into an inclusive community where he can include people with disabilities. He wants also to be at liberty to separate games, so that kids can have their own, parents as well – and be able to link them again whenever he wants to.

His event was thoroughly planned; they had Uluthandweni Maternity Clinic as one of their stakeholders in case a child gets hurt beyond damage while playing. They also had emergency services on standby. And he was happy on the improvement of the attendance, said it was better than his previous events.
