FITNESS JUNKIES CELEBRATE HERITAGE DAY BY EXERCISING IN WINDMILL PARK

Ntokozo Mwelase the founder and director of The Future Shapers organisation celebrated heritage day (24 September 2020) by hosting ‘The Future Shapers Fitness Club Aerobics Marathon’ that are distinctively incorporated with African dance moves that invigorate the body, at Ebandleni Shisanyama, in Windmill Park.Primarily, Ntokozo Mwelase who was also a fitness instructor on the day, explained that, “The reason we host these aerobics marathon is to introduce fitness to people holistically, yes you can be fit physically but if you are weak mentally it’s a crisis, when we say a person is fit we don’t only focus on the physical side of the body hence we have comfort programmes in our organisation that help people to understand who they are and how they can carry themselves as individuals, because once you understand who you are, it’s easy to build your physique to fit the description of the person you think you are.He clarified further saying, “Workouts give your body energy just like a car that is fueled with petrol; you age quickly if you don’t work out, I’m not talking about extreme exercises, just by picking up something in the house or just doing your garden in your home serves as a form of exercise that is beneficial to your body; if you don’t gym it will cause enormous consequences on your immune system, your body won’t easily fight off or carry out any viruses that enter your body; your wealth is your health, if you lead a healthy lifestyle it’s easy to rebuild yourself in life,” Ntokozo vividly disclosed.“I chose this heritage day to host this fitness session because it resembles our historic warriors, especially kings, back then all warriors who would be in the warfront in Africa were healthy, so we also believe that the culture of exercising and fitness should be an everyday thing that’s why on the 10th of October we will be back here, heritage does incude fitness ; we incorporated dancing in our aerobics because dancing resonates with us as South Africans, dancing is our culture, that’s why previously when people were protesting in South Africa against a certain president, Trevor Noah revealed that when he checked the American media headlines, they stated that people are dancing in South Africa,” Mwelase expressed in laughter. One of the participants of The Future Shapers fitness Club Aerobics Marathon, Octavia Nkomo (30) residing in Spruitview, expressed that, “I started the fitness sessions in 2016, at first it was for losing weight, but now it’s about my fitness, it’s like a drug in my blood, without any exercising sessions my body can feel the brunt, but today we are here to support the future Shapers fitness club aerobics marathon by joining in and having fun with common people who are into fitness,” Octavia Nkomo enthusiastically revealed
