The Youngage foundation NPC sponsored by Hungry Lion, The 100% foundation, Nozazi foundation and Teddy bear foundation held an event themed ‘Kidz fun day’ at the Macpaul Day Care centre, in Mapleton, Ext 2.
During the fun day, the foundations collectively donated hundred story books, fifty teddy bears, fifty hungry lion meals, PPE masks, food parcels, tables, hygiene detergents and toys.
The function was filled with exciting activities and all the parties involved enjoyed playing around with the children at the tender aged ECD centre.
Louisa Molise the founder of Youngage foundation NPC, alluded to Ekurhuleni news saying, “We chose the Macpaul Day Care centre because it is still new and it plays a pivotal role in its community by looking after the children while their parents are at work.”
“We also realised that the Day Care centre needs assistance, so we decided to act upon it and we added a bit of entertainment to it. We initiated the activities today because we wanted to enjoy with the children who are attending the ECD centre,” she expressed.Siphiwe Mahlangu representing ‘The 100% foundation’ outlined, stating that, “As an organisation we decided to be part of the initiative because one of our main objectives is to empower ECD centres. Nevertheless today we provided hygiene and nutritional products to the Day Care centre. Our day was satisfying because we enjoyed playing and interacting with the kids at the centre,” he expressed.
On the other hand, Babalwa Jeju the founder of Nozazi foundation also shared enlightening words, saying, “It felt good to be with the kids today, it is our obligation as an organisation to carry-out our social responsibility. We enjoyed being with the kids today,” she divulged.
The co-founders of Macpaul Day Care centre Mpho Shumba and Selelo Paulina Makhura gladly welcomed the gesture, and they expressed, saying, “We appreciate the gesture, they brought some of the things we needed, the fun day was refreshing for us and for the children as well, however we are still appealing to other donors to help-out by providing more tables, chairs, playing equipment, carpets and walking rings in our ECD centre,” they both shared.
