From Dreams to Melodies: Ndu Shezi Celerates Her Debut Album

Durban-born performer Ndu Shezi proudly announces the release of her debut album,

“Isibusiso Sami.” Originating from eNanda Newtown A, Ndu’s musical journey began after she

graduated from Bechet High School in 2006. She further pursued her passion at the University

of KwaZulu-Natal, where she studied Jazz and Popular Music in 2007.

Over the years, Ndu has showcased her versatility by collaborating with a diverse array of

artists, both as a backup singer and lead vocalist. Her impressive repertoire spans genres such

as rock, jazz, afro-pop, and gospel. Notable collaborations include U.S. saxophonist Salim

Washington, Neil Gonsalves, Swazi Dlamini, Naima Kay, Khaya Mthethwa, and Mthunzi Namba.

“Isibusiso Sami” is a deeply personal reflection of Ndu’s journey through life, love, and faith.

The album shares authentic stories drawn from her own experiences and those of others,

touching on themes of failed relationships, whirlwind romances, and her spiritual journey with

God, all while embodying the relentless spirit of a tenacious hustler.

The album features elements of neo-soul, gospel, and afro-jazz, with Ndu’s Zulu heritage

playing a vital role in shaping her sound. The 12 beautifully crafted songs, written in her mother

tongue, isiZulu, convey her innermost thoughts and ideologies. Even for those who do not

speak Zulu, there is a track that resonates with every listener. Join us in celebrating the

fulfillment of a dream!

In addition to her solo performances, Ndu introduces her original concept, “Two Can Play That

Game,” which features a unique blend of bass and vocals. As a former member of Joyous

Celebration, she has lent her voice to numerous artists, including Loyiso Bala, and is featured on

Professor’s latest single, “Unobenga.”

With the release of “Isibusiso Sami,” Ndu Shezi is poised to establish herself as a rising star in

South Africa and beyond. This album encapsulates her passion for music and the journey she

has undertaken to realize her dreams. Ndu invites everyone to experience the joy she felt while

creating this album, hoping listeners will enjoy it as much as she loved making it.
