Heartwarming Donations Bring Comfort to Newborns and Mothers in Polosong

By Sibusiso Khanye

On June 17, a contribution to Polosong Hospital was made to moms and newborns in a heartwarming act of goodwill.
Three devoted Benoni grandmothers have been instrumental in knitting and creating the baby goods which were presented on the day. For them, it’s a fulfilling way to keep occupied while actually improving the lives of others.

Beautiful handcrafted presents produced which included jackets, beanies, mittens and booties with love and care were provided by their project, were provided to the Maternity Ward and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The team of grannies involved in crafting warmth for newborns has made it their mission to support the hospital, especially focusing key wards—NICU Maternity, and the Kangaroo ward.

Reflecting on the efforts in Polosong, project leaders expressed their deep appreciation. “We love every bit, the staff are very dedicated to their work. Mothers are with their babies in the NICU Ward.Kangaroo ward really needs a beautiful upgrade to make it very comfortable and homely.”

The initiative by the caring group of grannies stands as a shining display of compassion, and the difference small acts of kindness make in the lives of mothers and children at the critical times of birth giving.
