Man arrested in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle
The Katlehong SAPS on the 9th of January 2021 arrested a 36 year old man at Kwanele Section in Katlehong.
Police were conducting a stop and search roadblock around Kwanele section when they spotted a white Hyundai H100 truck which appeared to be suspicious to them.
Police forced the driver to pull over in order to search him.
The driver was searched and during the search an investigation was also instigated, the police discovered that the vehicle was hijacked in Klipriver this month.
As the hijacked-car was found driven by him, the alleged suspect was arrested and detained in the Katlehong Police cells, for being in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle. Katlehong Station Commander is highly impressed by the police members for their outstanding job. Criminals must no-longer drive stolen vehicles freely around Katlehong.
This should be a lesson to all the criminals even to those who are stealing within the Katlehong neighbourhood, they must also understand that the long arm of the Law deals with every criminal. They can run, but they cannot hide, she added.
