In a heartwarming act of generosity, the Hollywoodbets Foundation has donated a collection of board games to our organization a gift that will go a long way in empowering young minds. These games will serve as valuable tools in preparing beneficiaries for a variety of educational programs, including Spelling Bee Competitions, Boot Camps, Public Speaking Contests, Quiz Whiz Challenges, and writing activities designed to enhance knowledge and critical thinking skills.
This thoughtful contribution underscores Hollywoodbets Foundation’s commitment to promoting education and literacy in South Africa. “Your support is invaluable,” the organization said in a statement, adding that the hope is for more stakeholders to join hands in nurturing a reading culture and fostering learning opportunities nationwide.
The organization also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) for inviting them to participate in the National Spelling Bee Competition held in Soweto on October 11, 2025. With a partnership dating back to 2014, this collaboration remains a cornerstone of youth empowerment. As a gesture of gratitude, the organization proudly donated trophies and medals for the competition — a symbol of appreciation for SAAYC’s ongoing dedication to literacy and youth development.
Looking ahead to 2026, the coming year promises to be an exciting one, with plans to strengthen relationships with key partners such as the 100% Foundation, Siyakha Youth Foundation, and the Gauteng Provincial Library Information Services (GPLIS). A major highlight will be the province-to-province Spelling Bee Competitions, leading up to a national championship that will unite top spellers from across South Africa.
Ambitiously, there are also plans to invite neighboring countries including Lesotho, Botswana, and Swaziland, transforming the event into a regional celebration of language, learning, and literacy.
Upcoming events include the Qwaqwa Spelling Bee, which has been postponed to a later date; the South Africa Spelling Bee Competition Finals taking place from December 10 to 12, 2025; and the BBDE Closing Ceremony Awards on December 13, 2025, with tickets available in October.
