Actor aspires to portray characters people can relate to

An exceptional actor, Sandile Moloane (32), hailing from Katlehong discovered his acting talent at a young age, as he always liked to portray the characters of people that he met on daily basis.

Moloane who is currently acting on Scandal possesses a diploma in Journalism.

He mentioned that he grew up watching legendary actors, which are the late Menzi Ngubane, Vusi Kunene, John Kani, Themba Ndaba, Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Jamie Foxx and other good actors who inspired him to venture into acting.

“I pursued my acting career at the age of eight doing what was called street theatre, as time went by I got part-time acting roles. Then in 2009, when I was in grade 11, I got an opportunity to act in a short film, after that acting opportunity, that’s when I realised that I really loved acting,” he expressed.

He added that thereafter he acted on several Mzansi Magic films.

“The Mzansi Magic films opened more opportunities for me; I later took up roles on Magaeng, Lockdown, Identity and other several dramas before scooping a role on Scandal. I’m enjoying the acting role that I was offered on Scandal, even the other roles that I played in various other dramas, I enjoyed them. As an actor, I aspire to portray characters that people can relate to.  My aim is to educate, inform and change lives. I want to use my God given talent to inspire other people,” Moloane explained.

He mentioned that he is also keen on acting on an international pedestal.

“Most people are hailing praises on my role on Scandal and that motivates me a lot, but even if you can check all the roles I have played prior to the one at Scandal, I have tried to play them as best as I could, I respect every role I play.

“This message is for all the people out there who want to pursue acting as career, they must know that to be an actor it requires a lot of mental stability because there are no guarantees on acting jobs in the industry, so every opportunity that you get you must grab with both hands,” Moloane advised.

He added that as an actor it’s important that you respect everyone you meet.
