The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Speed Enforcement Section, recorded eighty-six thousand nine hundred and forty-eight (86 948) cases of excessive speeding during the month of August this year.
In August between the 1st and the 31st, EMPD officers operating fixed and mobile speed cameras recorded almost ninety thousand (90 000) motor vehicles driven at excessive speed on our roadways in the East, North and Southern Region of the city.
In the Eastern region, eighteen thousand nine hundred and fifty-six (18 956) were recorded; in the Southern region, thirty-one thousand seven hundred and fifty-three (31 753) and in the Northern region, thirty-six thousand two hundred and thirty-nine (36 239) cases.
The Anti-speed operation continues in the City of Ekurhuleni and all law-breakersbreakers will be brought to book.
