Katlehong Athletics Club (KAC) honoured women on the month wherein mothers are cherished for their roles in the world. Primarily on the day, KAC had a 10-kilometre mother’s day run. The purpose of the run was to encourage ladies to exercise as there has been some disruption to their exercising routines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Secondly they wanted all the women to feel special because most of the time they sacrifice themselves in order to take of others which is something instilled in their genes as women.
The theme was red and white which symbolises love and peace, this amusingly showed all the ladies within the function that they are exceptionally loved and appreciated in the world.
“We thought why not honour mother’s in Katlehong along our route. The random act of kindness has been gratifying and women were completely surprised by our act,” Alludes Fortune.
They concluded the programme by giving out gifts, cupcakes, scones, biscuits and coffee to all the KAC ladies.
