Bokgabo’s dignified memorial service

Following the trend of the tragic calamities that had befallen the Poo family, a memorial service was held in memory of Bokgabo Poo. The service was held at the latter’s former daycare centre located in Wattville, on the 26th of October.

Bokgabo sadly passed away after being mercilessly mutilated a few days after her disappearance on the 10th of October. The ranking force and intervention of the community at large led to the progressive arrest of the 30-year-old suspected perpetrator.

Adhering to the customs of bidding farewell to a person that has passed away, a memorial service was held in memory of Bokgabo. Joined by dignitaries from far and wide the venue was overflowing with people who were in support of the Poo family.

Acknowledging the long-hidden societal issues that were unpacked after Poo’s death the community at large expressed how they felt about all the controversies that were being ignored.” We are unfortunately dealing with a different kind of pandemic, one that needs us to put on arms to protect ourselves instead of face-masks,” said Tshepi Mbikwa from Action society.

As expected, Poo was remembered as a jolly, interactive, and bright child. The community as well as the family had a lot of expectations and aspirations regarding Bokgabo’s future which was abruptly taken from her.

“Bokgabo was an angel and she will forever be an angel,” said the disheartened mother of Bokgabo, Tsholofelo Poo.

Although some of Poo’s remains have not yet been found, the family is hopeful that the law shall help them recover the remains to lay their child to rest. Looking forward to the following court date on the 14th of November, Bokgabo’s family is very much eager for justice to be served and that the perpetrator suffers the punishment for his crimes.

“That guy did not take the last of me, instead he has made me stronger. I have been watching everything trend on social media and realised that the community has cried my tears therefore I shall not cry but rather grow in strength,” exclaimed Bokgabo’s mother.
