Boxer hosts 21st edition of Leadership Programme

50 pupils from schools across South Africa and Eswatini recently took part in the 21st annual edition of the Boxer Youth Leadership Programme in Zinkwazi on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The Programme, fully paid for by Boxer and co-sponsors Clover, was an overwhelming success, with the many young leaders taking home incredible memories, many new and strengthened skills and a lifetime of new friendships.

“We are overjoyed with this year’s programme. Our 50 guests took every opportunity presented to them this week and excelled. They will now go back home and inspire others to be great and do great. This is a massive win for Boxer, and for the communities in which they live. Boxer is dedicated to uplifting the youth and shaping future leaders, and the BYLP, over the past 2 decades has pursued this goal with vigour. Next year, we intend on taking another 50 pupils on this journey and making even more memories for them,” said Boxer Group Executive for Stakeholder Sustainability and Engagement, Ntombi Dludla.

The week-long Programme saw the 50 pupils fly to KZN, and receive a full Programme kit including shirts, tracksuits and pants. A week-long full roster of activities kept the leaders busy, from abseiling to ocean swims, leadership skills workshops and more. For some guests, it was the first time that they had experience flights and a swim in the ocean. In addition, special appearances from BYLP alumni inspired the current generation to reach for the stars and reach their potential.

The 2023 edition of the BYLP concluded with a graduation ceremony and unique performances from the guests, followed by their final awards and farewell dinner. Pupils and parents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the 2024 entry information, should they wish to enter for a chance to take part in this life-changing experience.
