Brakpan’s resident crowned 2nd princess

Freddonecia Olyn from the Northern Cape was crowned 2nd princess during the Miss Glam South Africa 2022 pageant. The crowning ceremony took place on December 10, 2022, at Blairgowrie Recreational Centre, Johannesburg.

Being the 2nd princess, Olyn is expected to serve her community and get involved in charity work.

“Throughout the pageant journey, I have been tasked with various activities to not only build personal brands but to also build community bonds. I initiated several charity works focusing on children’s rights, food, and sanitary towel drives,” she said.

Olyn has been involved in helping hand food drives, and sanitary towels drive and did the voice of the voiceless campaigns.

“I have learnt that modelling is about serving hence as my year of service has commenced, I am aiming to venture into community-based work. I do plead with the society of Ekurhuleni to assist wherever possible, in terms of donating clothes, non-perishable food items, toys, old reading books, and sanitary towels.”

The 27-year-old mentioned that being the second runner-up for Miss Glam South Africa 2022 makes her feel elevated at all levels. Not only does she feel like a princess with a sash and crown, but, she is a wonderful being and ready to add value to the lives of others especially young children.

Her latest charity work was on the 12th of January 2023, where she worked with the mother of the late Bokgabo Poo. Since she was born on January 12, the charity event was in her memory. They shared her clothes, cake, and Party packs with the children in the community. With the help of some community members, the day was a success.
