the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, arrested a 42-year-old male suspect for assault and intimidation, in the Davetyon area.
The 35-year-old female complainant alleges that on Wednesday 20 March 2024, she was at home when her brother, the suspect, came into her room and started demanding money that was left by her older brother. She responded by telling him that he must go and enquire about the money at their older brother’s work. That was when the suspect took out a firearm and started demanding that she should give him the money. The complainant left the room and the suspect followed her, grabbed her by the jacket and slapped her on the face. She tried to defend herself, but he continued to assault her.
The EMPD officers received information from a reliable source about a suspect sought for arrest, and the suspected was found at his place of residence. The firearm was recovered and booked at the Daveyton police station, for safekeeping. The suspect was detained at the Daveyton police station.
