Bylaws operation yield results

On Tuesday 28 February 2023 at 10:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) By-Laws Unit Officers, conducted the Municipal By-Laws operation around the Daveyton area and goods were impounded.

While on Eiselen Street, Officers had to impound perishable goods from illegal hawkers operating in a no-trading area. Law Enforcers proceeded to the intersection of Empilweni and Hlakwana and were attended to by a few hawkers operating in a no-trading area.

Beverages, ranging from ciders and beers and other goods, were seized. All confiscated items were booked at Boksburg and transgressors were issued with written notices for failing to comply with City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) By-laws.

Meanwhile, in the Crystal Park area at 15h00, the EMPD Bronberg precinct Officers issued seven (7) final written notices, to people who have illegally invaded the council land, at the corner of Vlei and Pretoria. Lawbreakers were previously visited and a verbal warning, coupled with instructions to evacuate the premises, was issued to them but, the directives fell on deaf ears. The EMPD Officers will make a follow-up, on intervals.
