On Thursday (05 Nov) in Boksburg area, acting on a tip off from concerned members of the community, the EMPD Anti-Cable Theft Unit and Combined Private Investigators Members, rushed to the given address and three (3) male suspects found fiddling with an electrical sub-station, were handcuffed and marched to Boksburg north police station.
At 19h00 on Barris road in Witfield suburb, three (3) suspicious characters in a parked white Light Delivery Vehicle (Nissan NP200) branded with 2x small City Power Johannesburg door stickers, who are 19, 27 and 44-years of age were cornered and handcuffed. Charges of impersonation (they are not Energy department personnel) and possession of suspected stolen cable, were levelled against the threesome, who failed to explain their business to Officers, after they were caught with a 20meters aluminum electrical cable, supplying street lights valued at R500. Their Nissan LDV, was confiscated and impounded to the South African Police Service yard for safe keeping, under SAPS 13 file.
The arrested trinity, is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
