The City of Ekurhuleni has officially opened its swimming pools to the public.
Prior to opening the facilities on the 1st of October, the city ensured that they undergo thorough maintenance and preparation to ensure a healthy and safe swimming environment for bathers.
Whilst only a selected number of pools are open, the city continues with maintenance at all times to ensure that the water quality of all pools is compliant with the safety standards set by Life Saving SA and the aquatics regulatory authorities.
The following pools are open:
- Birchleigh Swimming Pool
- Boksburg North Swimming Pool
- Delville Swimming Pool
- Edenvale Swimming Pool
- Klopper Park Swimming Pool
- Etwatwa Swimming Pool
- Benoni North Swimming Pool
- Leondale Swimming Pool
- Reiger Park Swimming Pool
- Van Dyk Park Swimming Pool
- Selection Park Swimming Pool
- Thokoza Swimming Pool
- Edenpark swimming Pool
- Benoni Swimming Pool
- Faranani Swimming Pool
While a majority of the pools may be opened for use now, members of the public are advised to exercise caution and patience with one another as high public turnouts are anticipated due to the current hot weather conditions. Crowd control measures are in place, and lifesavers are deployed to ensure the safety of the patrons.
