A 23-year-old male has been apprehended for the possession and distribution of drugs, as well as for having ammunition.
On the early morning of Wednesday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., crime prevention wardens and SAPS officers on patrol received a tip from a concerned community member regarding an individual in possession of drugs on Windmill Strandlor Street.
Upon receiving the call, the police promptly proceeded to the identified residence. They approached the homeowner and requested permission to conduct a search. During the search, the police discovered drugs, cash, and a single round of ammunition for which the suspect could not produce a valid license. Consequently, the suspect was immediately placed under arrest and taken into custody.
The arrested individual is currently being held at Dawn Park SAPS.
The suspect is set to make an appearance in the Vosloorus Court in the near future.
