The highly anticipated 2023 Dallmayr Mrs South Africa competition is well underway, as the program announced its 2023 Finalists, at its first-ever Semi-final Showcaseevent, on Friday 7th July at the famous Theatre of Marcellus, Gauteng. Out of a fiercely competitive field of 100 remarkable semi-finalists, the Top 30 Finalists secured their place among the nation’s most exceptional married women, including Kempton Park’s own Pondo Osuigwe.
Guests who attended the first-ever Mrs South Africa Semi-Finalist Showcase, in association with Dallmayr Coffee were treated to an evening of elegance, talent, and inspiration, including a black-tie VIP pre-party withrenowned MC, Jo-Ann Strauss. The contestants then showed off their dazzling evening wear and, finally, the judges’ Top 30 finalists were announced.
This year’s prestigious panel of judges included well-known figures such as former Mrs South Africa Queens,Matapa Maila and Jacqueline Ferns, Dr Fezile Mkhize and Catherine Constantinides.
Pondo Osuigwe states that becoming a finalist has given her hope to know that it’s never too late to go after your dreams just keep on believing. She is particularly passionate about advocating for body positivity and was inspired to join the program to bring out the best of herselfand become a voice and purpose to the community.
“Mrs. South Africa program has provided a platform for my voice of hope to be heard by women and girls who have lost confidence and self-esteem due to body shaming. I would love for them to know that we are all made differently, and we shouldn’t allow society to define us. You are uniquely made, you are worthy, embrace yourself andregaining your confidence,” she shares.
Mrs. South Africa is the country’s leading pageant for married women, offering participants a renowned self-development program, as well as the opportunity to positively impact their communities. Through mentorship, leadership training, workshops, and personal development, the pageant empowers its contestants with the skills and tools necessary to effect meaningful societal change.
The Grand Finale, where one finalist will be crowned the new Dallmayr Mrs South Africa, will be held on 17thNovember this year. This promises to be a spectacular event celebrating the beauty, intelligence, and leadership of the next generation of Mrs South Africa’s powerful sisterhood of change-makers.
