The City of Ekurhuleni is saddened by the passing of one of its employees who was killed while on duty on Friday, 9 February.
The employee, working in the Roads and Stormwater Department, was shot multiple times while carrying out his duties on Commissioner Road in Boksburg around 12pm at noon.
“This is a very sad and shocking incident. We are deeply pained by the untimely death of one of our own and, we send our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues during this trying time.
“It is unclear what the motive of the shooting was. The police are investigating a case of murder, and we appeal to residents who may have any information to come forward and report it to the Boksburg police station,” said the metro spokesman Zweli Dlamini.
NB: No arrest has been made.
