Ithemba Community Organisation gave sanitary pads to young schoolgirls at Abram Mhlophe and Manzini Primary School on March 15, 2022, at Katlehong. The organization has started this initiative in most primary schools around Katlehong.
The non-profit organisation is based in Katlehong South Ext9 and it aims to help people who need food, sanitary pads, rehab, and assistance in homework for school kids.
The young school girls were very excited to get free sanitary pads as some of the kids come from homes where their parents can’t afford to buy them pads every month.
Andile Ndesi who is a Chair Person for the organisation said, “Because we grew up in this community and we know exactly what people are going through, so as Ithemba Community Organisation we want to make life easier for young girls, boys and elders by offering any help and assistance for them to make our community a better place”.
The programme of giving sanitary pads and food started in the year 2021, they distribute from their own pockets to help their communities.
