On Monday, 15 January 2024, the law had its say when the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers threw the cuffs on a 36-year-old guy. Why? Well, he didn’t follow the rules laid out in the protection order notice.
Here’s the lowdown: The dude’s wife said they were in the middle of a messy divorce. This fella wasn’t just difficult; he was downright abusive to her and the kids. Rumor has it, he even kicked them out of their own house! Not cool, right?
So, on Thursday, 15 September 2022, the missus had enough. She marched herself to the nearest Magistrate’s Court and got herself a protection order. You know, one of those “stay away from me and my kids” things. Even though she was crashing at relatives’ places, this abusive ex wasn’t letting up.
Fast forward to now, and the EMPD Officers tracked down this troublemaker. They slapped the cuffs on him, and off to the Daveyton police station, he went. Surprisingly, no bumps or bruises on the guy – lucky him.
Now, this not-so-nice ex is in for a date with the magistrate. Justice is knocking, and he’s got some explaining to do. Watch this space!
