Mayfield Square visited four local schools between the 17th and 19th of February to welcome learners of the 2021 academic year.
As part of their Back to School initiative, Mayfield Square donated 4 700 book covers, 180 school bags, 190 lunch boxes and 243 boxes of coloring pencils to four local primary schools.
The beneficiaries were Kuzimisela Primary School, Inkatha Ka Zulu Primary School, Gugulesizwe Primary School and Umnyezane Primary School. The Mall also helped to cover some books with local community stakeholders.
Through the donation, Mayfield Square aims to inspire hope for learners returning to school. Community integration and the spirit of Ubuntu is what drives Mayfield Square.
Winnie Mona, a social worker from Umnyezane Primary School expressed her gratitude to the Mall and said “Giving means sharing with and empowering those in need. Mayfield Square is our solution and our light in the darkness. No words can express our joy.”
The Deputy Principal from Gugulesizwe, Mrs. Mawela said, “We as a school are thankful to Mayfield Square for their support. It has truly made a difference for us and we are extremely grateful. Thank you.”
A grade six learner and beneficiary from Gugulesizwe, Thobile Zwane, expressed her gratitude saying “Mayfield Square has donated to a great school, we thank you.”
Mayfield Square is passionate about the community and giving back to those that deserve it most.
