Reakgona Mo-TSOMV Organization gave pampering services to the pensioners at Khumalo Valley Swedish Church on Saturday the 26th of February 2022, the pensioners got free massages, manicures, pedicures and had their hair cut and hairstyles.
The founder of Mo-TSOMV, Lady Johen Seteti said that her organisation is an NPO, but she makes means to host such events where they give back to the community especially the elders because they are most neglected, for the pensioners to get pampered is a way of showing appreciation to them.
The NPO was established in 2019 after Setati’s grandmother (Rosinah Maphuma Seteti) passed away at the age of 103, she used to take care of her grandmother.
Setati said her grandmother came in her dream and told her to continue taking care of other elders.
One of the pensioners who got pampered Elsie Selepe (61) said she is happy to get such spoils and for her to get pampered makes her feel beautiful. “I wish all the best for Reakgona Mo-TSOMV going forward because they make us feel important as elders,” she said.
The organisation worked with Beauty Hub, where their students pampered the elders for free, Mthunzi Chicken Supplies also took part by giving away free chickens to the elders.
“Giving back to the needy is a calling, growing up in a family that used to give back to the community groomed me to be the person I am today,” added Setati.
She shares half of her house with the community as the organisation cooks for the community four times a week, they provide breakfast and lunch to the needy with the help of Food Forward SA which is an organisation that helps with food donations. Reakgona Mo-TSOMV struggles with not having enough space and they are using Zozo containers as their offices, the organisation has no sponsors.
The Reakgona Mo-TSOMV caters for the youth in Sports, Art and Culture, and Music where they give young people a platform to grow.
