Residents commend ‘Word and Life Church’ and Ekurhuleni Disaster Management

Cindy Tsotetsi (33) and Prinsloo Rikhotso (41) who are residing in Villa Liza (Freedom park section) and other members of the community commended what the Ekhuruleni Disaster Management crew and ‘Word and Life Church’ did for them, after they lost their belongings to the fire that engulfed their shack.

“We want to thank the disaster management and Word and Life Church, not to mention the community at large. When the shack caught fire all our property was burnt, but our neighbors combined their money and they began rebuilding the shack. We received blankets and other household items from the disaster management team, and clothes and blankets from the church,” Rikhotso expressed.

The victims are a family of five including their three children.”Kids were left without any clothes to put on,” said the devastated Cindy.

This is not the first time people lost their possessions due to fire in Villa Liza and residents pointed fingers to load shedding.

“I think electricity returns with immense power and that causes all these fires .This couple lost their property which is worth more than 100 thousand rand, their car is in ashes,” said Pastor Lupheane.
