Three suspects were arrested, two by the EMPD Equestrian Unit, in a joint law enforcement operation on Friday, 18 February, following a robbery in Putfontein.
Following up on information on five suspects armed with three firearms travelling in a blue Toyota, who allegedly committed the robbery, back up was called from the likes of the EMPD’s equestrian unit, Etwatwa and Broomberg Precinct as well as SAPS flying squad and K9 units. They gave chase and the suspects lost control of the vehicle at Tom Jones Road/N12.
Two suspects were caught by the equestrian unit. While searching for the remaining three suspects information received led to a third suspect hiding in the bush some 2km away.
The suspects were taken to Benoni police station and processed.
