SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM AND HIJACKED MOTOR VEHICLE
On Tuesday 2022- 02 08, the Police received information regarding the suspects who are terrorizing the communities with House Robberies and Car Hijackings around the Gauteng area. On Thursday 2022-02-10 an Intelligence-driven disruptive operation was conducted comprising of Ekurhuleni Central District Crime Intelligence, Head Quarters Tactical Operational Management Section Team, Flying Squad and Tracker SA.
The Suspects’ s vehicle, a White Kia Sportage was spotted in Edenvale area and stopped.
It is alleged that the suspects wanted to commit crimes in Edenvale.
Two suspects between 29 and 34 years old were found inside the vehicle and placed under arrest. The mentioned vehicle was searched and an unlicensed firearm, a 9 mm pistol was found inside the vehicle, housebreaking equipment and the vehicle had false number plates on.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are linked to the Bramley case of Car Hijacking committed in January 2022
Further investigations will be done to determine whether the suspects were involved in other Crimes
