A talented player, Mluleki Thandokuhle Kunene, who was born in Kwa-Thema (Tornado), shared his basketball career journey with Ekurhuleni News.
He disclosed that he started his Basketball career at the age of 16, attending basketball camps that were hosted by Jama Mahlalela (who Is now an Assistant coach of The NBA Toronto Raptors) and other few guys from Toronto, in Canada.
Thandokuhle expressed himself, saying, “In High School I was the vice-captain of the first team and in 2010 I was the captain of the Under 20 National team in the Zone 6 Games which were Held in Swaziland.”
Thandokuhle is now the captain of a local basketball team in Kwa-Thema, known as Kwa-Thema Bulls and he also plays in the Basketball National League (BNL) with Soweto Panthers. They just recently Made it to the semi-finals after beating Northwest Eagles 100 – 61 and they played Tshwane Suns in the finals this past weekend, their basketball match was broadcasted on Supersport, channel 209.
